OUR Three C's
Training isn't just about your pet. An integral part of the training process is you. That's why we develop a training plan that fits your lifestyle and is tailored to you and your dog's needs. We believe the first step in addressing any training goal is understanding the following:
-
What is the concern at hand, and what is our goal?
-
Where is the behavior occurring?
-
When is this behavior happening?
-
Why is it occurring?
-
How is it affecting your relationship(s)?
To resolve these questions, we employ what we refer to as our
3 C's
Compassion
Communication
Effective communication with your dog is essential for any successful training. Understanding their language allows us to teach them in a way that resonates with their natural instincts. By bridging the gap between human and canine communication, we foster a stronger bond and ensure our dogs grasp the lessons we aim to impart. This mutual understanding not only enhances training but also enriches our relationship with our dogs.
Whether you're training your pup to be a show dog or want to teach them polite manners in and out of the home, ALL dogs should be trained with respect and compassion. Behavior science has progressed to the point that almost every behavior can be taught/modified through humane methods. Our philosophy is, "If you wouldn't do it to teach a child, you shouldn't use it to teach a dog." Dogs are meant to be our best friends, incredible companions, and loyal aids, all of which require trust and a solid bond to fulfill. We train our students to be strong leaders but to lead through kindness, not fear.
Consistency
At Conscious Canine, we believe that effective dog training stems from clear and consistent communication. Dogs rely on the information we provide, and they don’t have the ability to infer meaning like humans do. For example, if jumping on you is acceptable, why would it be inappropriate for them to jump on others? Our goal is to establish clear boundaries and expectations, ensuring a harmonious relationship between you and your canine companion.
